South African brutal death metal outfit Vulvodynia have officially introduced Maya Pobst as their new vocalist.
Pobst, who is also known for her work with Burial Path, joins the band following an open audition process that was launched earlier this year. Her arrival marks the latest chapter in a turbulent period for Vulvodynia, who have experienced multiple lineup changes behind the microphone in recent years.
The band parted ways with longtime vocalist Duncan Bentley in 2023 following a violent altercation involving a fellow band member. More recently, Vulvodynia dismissed his successor, Zion Bittenbender, earlier this year after allegations surfaced against him.
With Maya Pobst now stepping into the role, the band appears ready to move forward as they prepare to hit the road across Europe this summer.
Vulvodynia’s upcoming European tour dates are as follows:
- 07/26 – Cham, Germany – La Life Style Cafe
- 07/27 – Tolmin, Slovenia – Tolminator
- 07/30 – Krakow, Poland – Hype Park
- 08/01 – Munich, Germany – Free And Easy Fest
- 08/02 – Wiesbaden, Germany – Schlachthof
- 08/03 – Alkmaar, Netherlands – Hal 25
- 08/06 – Bratislava, Slovakia – Pink Whale
- 08/08 – Jaroměř, Czech Republic – Brutal Assault
No additional details regarding new music or future recording plans have been revealed at this time.
