In a shocking turn of events, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, Jillian Lauren, was shot by police during a dramatic chase in Los Angeles. The incident unfolded on a Tuesday afternoon after a hit-and-run crash led officers from the California Highway Patrol and LAPD to pursue three suspects who had fled on foot through the Eagle Rock area.
One of the suspects evaded capture by climbing over a freeway embankment and attempting to blend into a residential neighborhood. As the officers continued their search, they approached the backyard of a nearby house where the suspect had fled. It was there that Jillian Lauren emerged from her home, allegedly armed with a gun.
Despite police orders to drop the weapon, Lauren reportedly ignored the commands and pointed the gun at the officers, prompting them to fire, striking her in the shoulder. She then ran back into the house, leading to a tense standoff.
Approximately 30 minutes later, Lauren, along with her babysitter, surrendered to authorities. She was immediately transported to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Following her release, Lauren was arrested and booked for attempted murder after a 9-millimeter handgun was recovered from the residence.
The initial suspect involved in the chase was taken into custody, but the other two individuals remain at large.
Jillian Lauren, who has led an unconventional life, is also the author of the memoir ‘Some Girls: My Life in a Harem‘, detailing her experiences as a guest of the Prince of Brunei.
