Weezer bassist Scott Shriner was approached by paparazzi this morning while walking his dogs, following a dramatic incident the day before involving his wife, Jillian Lauren. Reports indicate that Lauren allegedly pointed a firearm at a police officer during a standoff, refusing to drop the weapon before being shot in the arm.
Lauren has since been treated for non-life-threatening injuries and posted a $1 million bail after being charged with attempted murder.
Shriner, who declined to comment on the situation, did confirm— in a video posted by TMZ— that he will still be performing at Coachella this weekend. In the video, he flashed a shaka hand gesture and said, “See you at Coachella,” before quickly walking away from the cameras up his driveway.
Weezer is set to perform at Coachella on Saturday.
