Sleep Token, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Deafheaven & More Set Special Releases For 2026 ‘Record Store Day’

The lineup for the 2026 edition of ‘Record Store Day’ has officially been revealed, and this year’s slate features a wide spread of metal, hard rock and alternative releases worth digging through the bins for. The annual event returns April 18th at independent record stores worldwide, bringing with it a mix of exclusive pressings, archival material and limited collectibles.

Among the biggest talking points for heavier-leaning fans is the long-awaited arrival of the Look Outside Your Window album — the elusive 2008 project born out of Slipknot sessions — which will finally see a physical release on vinyl.

Elsewhere, Sleep Token are issuing a limited 12″ pressing of “Caramel” paired with an instrumental version of “Emergence,” while Deafheaven are set to press their 2025 KEXP studio session to wax for the first time. Swedish extreme metal innovators Meshuggah are contributing remastered anniversary editions of ‘Destroy Erase Improve’ and ‘Catch Thirtythree’, and a collectible vinyl figure honoring the late Ozzy Osbourne — himself a past Record Store Day ambassador — is also part of the rollout.

Additional notable items span generations and styles, including a reissue of Megadeth’s ‘Hidden Treasures’, a 45th-anniversary Mötley Crüe release tied to “Live Wire,” a vinyl debut of The Sword’s ‘Three Songs’ collection from their early CD-R era, and a Pearl Jam photo book/live EP capturing moments from their ‘Dark Matter’ touring cycle.

Dozens of other rock and metal artists — from BABYMETAL and Bring Me The Horizon to Fear Factory, Motörhead, Judas Priest, Misfits, and beyond — will also have exclusive or limited releases available as part of the celebration. With quantities often capped and availability varying by shop, collectors will likely need to move quickly on April 18th.
