Death metal supergroup Ablation have unveiled the title track from their upcoming debut EP, “Lethal Abuse,” which is set for release on May 29 via Iron Fortress Records. The release will be available on vinyl, CD, and cassette, giving fans multiple ways to experience the ferocious six-song effort.
Formed by four seasoned death metal veterans, Ablation features Devin Swank (vocals, Sanguisugabogg), Eric Morotti (drums, Suffocation), Derek Boyer (bass, Suffocation), and Rich Nagasawa (guitar, ex-Dehumanized). Recording sessions for the EP took place throughout 2025, with the project finalized last fall.
The band enlisted producer Joe Cincotta (Obituary, Suffocation) at Full Force Studio to handle production, mixing, and mastering, ensuring the EP delivers maximum death metal impact.
Strengthening the connection to the Suffocation legacy, Frank Mullen makes two guest appearances on the EP, lending vocals to “Victim Kink” and “Eradicating The Feebleminded.”
The title track is now streaming, giving fans a first taste of the intensity Ablation brings to their debut. Pre-orders for “Lethal Abuse” are live at ironfortressrecords.com.

Can we stop calling every side project a supergroup? Sure Suffocation have been around forever, but them coming together with members of a band that half their fans can’t even pronounce their name, does not make a supergroup.

Jason Lewis a super group, is a band made up of members of established bands. This is 100% a supergroup. Just because you can’t pronounce Sanguisugabogg, doesn’t mean they aren’t legit. They just dropped their 3rd record and it’s fucking good. Don’t be such a bummer man, be glad you just got a new band and a killer first track. Metal gets a bad rap as it is from people outside of it, we don’t need to start picking each other apart.
