Alice In Chains have newly brought a piece of their early-’90s history to YouTube, digitally uploading footage from their classic ‘Live Facelift’ concert film.
The Seattle grunge icons originally filmed the performance on December 22nd, 1990, at the Moore Theatre in their hometown. The resulting ‘Live Facelift’ VHS was released in July 1991 and would eventually earn a gold certification in 2001.
The band’s camp has now uploaded individual videos for four of the five songs that originally appeared on the VHS release. The only track from the original five-song performance that has yet to surface is “Bleed The Freak.”
The footage also offers a look at Alice In Chains‘ early lineup, featuring the late frontman Layne Staley and bassist Mike Starr. Both musicians would later die from drug overdoses, making the newly surfaced footage an especially notable snapshot of the band’s formative years.
The remaining songs from the ‘Live Facelift’ performance are now available to revisit online, more than three decades after the original release.
