Ameonna, the studio project featuring three former Chelsea Grin members, are officially preparing to make their live debut after previously existing solely as a recording-based project.
The band includes vocalist Alex Koehler, guitarist/bassist Jacob Harmond, and drummer Pablo Viveros, all of whom previously played key roles in Chelsea Grin’s rise within the deathcore scene.
The group confirmed the news via social media on June 5, outlining their identity and future plans as they transition into live performances for the first time.
“Ameonna is a new metal band born from the legacy of deathcore mainstays Chelsea Grin, uniting vocalist Alex Koehler, guitarist/bassist Jacob Harmond, and drummer Pablo Viveros. Named after the Japanese rain spirit—‘beautiful and ominous in equal measure’—Ameonna embodies that same balance, pairing crushing heaviness with raw, unflinching honesty across releases like Goddess Wept, Goddess Reign and The Birth of Death. Now the trio brings that vision to the stage for the first time, marking the live debut of one of heavy music’s most anticipated reunions.”
Ameonna have also confirmed that new material is currently in development alongside their upcoming live activities, signaling a new chapter for the trio as they move beyond their initial studio-only releases.
