Tim Lambesis’ plans to resurrect As I Lay Dying by spring appear to have been overly ambitious. Following the band’s dramatic implosion late last year—paired with ongoing controversy and a wave of allegations—his efforts to rebuild the metalcore outfit seem to have stalled for now.
Whether due to the disturbing footage that surfaced, the ongoing legal and personal disputes between Lambesis and his ex-wife, or the band’s still-diminished lineup, As I Lay Dying have officially withdrawn from this year’s Welcome To Rockville festival. Taking their place on the lineup is Miss May I, who will now perform at the event, set for May 15th–18th in Daytona Beach, FL.
Festival organizers confirmed the lineup change in a social media post:
“LINEUP UPDATE: @missmayiband is joining your @welcometorockville 2025 Lineup! They will take the stage on Friday, May 16th, here at North America’s Largest Rock Festival! As I Lay Dying will no longer be performing.”
That lineup swap comes with a touch of irony, as Miss May I bassist/vocalist Ryan Neff was actually the first member to exit As I Lay Dying’s lineup last October—setting off a chain reaction that saw every member, except for Tim Lambesis, eventually follow suit.

Thank god!!
Think it’s time to drop off the planet
Too busy kicking his dog or himself
I mean. It would be pretty challenging for Tim to sing, play guitar, bass and drums all by himself.
Good
Good riddance, Tim Lambesis is done for. We can all move on now. There’s plenty or metalcore out there, we don’t need this loser.
As I lay dying last album was amazing. Even without the original bandmates.
Ugh
The irony is hilarious . I’m sure Ryan would never say it but it’s
Hilarious that Miss May I picked up the spot
Always loved the guys music. Shame what he’s done to the band. Definitely regret never seeing them live cus it’s never gonna happen now.
As tim lays crying
The last album was so good, such a shame.
Alicia Pasnokot
Eddie Mesch we love to see this!!!!!
Last time Miss May I replaced As I Lay Dying on a tour drop off is when Tim went to prison. Wild
