Avenged Sevenfold have unexpectedly dropped a brand new EP titled “STATICA,” releasing the four-track project without prior announcement or public buildup.
The surprise release finds the multi-platinum alternative metal outfit once again pushing beyond the boundaries of their traditional sound. Across its four songs, “STATICA” explores a more electronic-driven and experimental direction, continuing the band’s recent trend of embracing unconventional songwriting and production choices.
The EP was co-produced by the band alongside longtime collaborator Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age), while acclaimed mixer Neal H. Pogue (Tyler, The Creator, Snoop Dogg) handled mixing duties.
The release arrives just days before Avenged Sevenfold kick off their upcoming summer co-headlining tour with Good Charlotte, which begins this week and runs through the end of August.
