Rising metalcore outfit Balmora have unveiled a new single titled “Ophelia,” offering another preview of their upcoming debut full-length, ‘These Graven Halls’, due out May 29th via DAZE.
The release marks a new era for the band following a lineup overhaul earlier this year that brought in vocalist Paul Cole (Since My Beloved, Wings Of Kynareth) as the group’s new frontman, replacing Chris “Senti” Misenti. The freshly released track also features a guest vocal appearance from Brie Percy of Holder.
Speaking on the song’s themes, guitarist Jay Torbla explained:
“‘Ophelia’ is a story of betrayal, heartbreak, revenge, and forgiveness. It’s meant to highlight the nature of initial anger, action, and remorse in a hanging balance system.”
According to press materials, ‘These Graven Halls’ pulls from a wide spectrum of influences, blending metallic aggression with cinematic and atmospheric inspirations ranging from The Black Dahlia Murder and On Broken Wings to film scores and modern classical elements inspired by Requiem For A Dream, Silent Hill, composer Philip Glass, and Bladee.
