Baroness Set Summer Studio Plans For Seventh Album

Baroness are preparing to enter the studio this summer to begin work on their seventh full-length album, with recording currently expected to kick off around mid-July.

The update comes from guitarist/vocalist Gina Gleason, who recently spoke with Guitar World about the band’s ongoing writing process and where the next record currently stands.

“The past year we’ve been touring the Red and Blue records. I’m a huge fan of those records, especially Blue.”

“We’ve also been working on new music for the better part of a year and a half. The challenge now is whittling it down and finding the identity of the album, before going into the studio around July.”

The forthcoming release will follow ‘Stone’ and continue the band’s evolution after their recent touring cycle focused heavily on revisiting earlier material.

Gleason also briefly touched on her new side project Ecliptor, which recently made its live debut and already has a debut album in progress after roughly two years of development.

At this stage, no release details have been confirmed for either the new Baroness album or the Ecliptor debut, but both projects are expected to take shape over the coming year.
