New metal project Blue Medusa appear ready to unveil their first official single, “Checkmate,” which is expected to arrive this Friday, March 20th.
Frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz, best known for her work with Arch Enemy, has recently shared several teasers for the track across social media, building anticipation ahead of the song’s release. A pre-save campaign for “Checkmate” has also launched through ONErpm.
White-Gluz formally introduced Blue Medusa earlier this month, revealing a guitar-driven lineup featuring Alyssa Day (Mindscar/In Absentia) and Dani Sophia (formerly of Lindemann). The trio will serve as the band’s core creative unit moving forward.
For live performances, the lineup expands to include bassist Alicia Vigil — known for her work with DragonForce and Vigil Of War — along with drummer Delaney Jaster of These Fading Visions.
With teasers now circulating and the debut single imminent, “Checkmate” will mark the first official glimpse into Blue Medusa’s musical direction as the newly formed act begins its rollout.
