Progressive metalcore veterans Born Of Osiris have officially announced the departure of longtime guitarist Lee McKinney, who first joined the band back in 2007. The split follows speculation earlier this month after McKinney prematurely posted about his exit online before deleting the message.
In a new statement released today, the band confirmed the lineup change and laid out their immediate plans:
“To our BOO Crew family around the world, we have some news to share with you: Lee McKinney and Born Of Osiris are parting ways. We wish him the best with his future endeavors. None of our upcoming plans will change: our new album, Through Shadows will come out on July 11th. We will continue the European headline tour that we are on right now; we will not cancel any shows. For our upcoming Canadian tour in June/July, Scott Carstairs from Entheos/Fallujah will be filling in on guitar. We will soon be announcing more details regarding the future guitar player of Born Of Osiris.”
Despite McKinney’s exit, Born Of Osiris remain active and committed to their scheduled appearances. Their new album, Through Shadows, is due out July 11th, and the group is currently in the midst of a European headlining tour. Guitarist Scott Carstairs (Fallujah, Entheos) will be filling in during the band’s upcoming Canadian dates this summer as they work toward solidifying their future lineup.
