West Hollywood’s legendary rock venue Whisky A Go Go was unexpectedly damaged earlier yesterday, May 9th, when a dump truck struck the rear of the building. According to the Los Angeles Times, the truck reportedly collided with a mail truck and a power pole before crashing into the club’s exterior.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, but the crash did hit a main powerline, leaving around 1,420 customers without power. Utility crews were able to restore service to many affected within a short time.
Ironically, the incident occurred just ahead of a scheduled performance by Boy Hits Car, who were set to take the stage at the iconic venue last night. The band confirmed the show’s cancellation due to the accident and shared a video message about plans to reschedule.
