Avenged Sevenfold drummer Brooks Wackerman stars in the latest episode of ‘For The First Time’ from Drumeo, the popular video series that challenges drummers to create their own parts for songs they’ve never heard before—this time with the original drum tracks completely removed.
In this new installment, Wackerman takes on “Pisces,” the 2016 breakout single from Ukrainian progressive metalcore band Jinjer. The episode captures his creative process as he builds his own interpretation of the track before finally hearing the original version.
As noted in the video, Brooks isn’t the first in his family to take on the challenge—his brother Chad Wackerman previously tackled a song by The Mars Volta earlier this year.
