An officially authorized book chronicling the legacy of Finnish melodic death metal icons Children Of Bodom is on the way. Set for release this August via Rocket 88, the book offers an extensive oral history of the band’s journey from their 1993 formation to their 2019 farewell.
Penned by author Timo Isoaho, the project includes firsthand accounts from former band members, friends, and close collaborators. Former bassist/vocalist Henkka Seppälä, keyboardist/vocalist Janne Wirman, drummer Jaska Raatikainen, and guitarist Alexander Kuoppala issued a joint statement on the upcoming release:
“Since we stopped making music and suffered the tragic loss of our brother Alexi [Laiho], we’ve been remembering so many great times that we had together, and you can now read about those times in this book. It tells the full history of Children Of Bodom in our own words.”
The book is available to pre-order now at childrenofbodombook.com, with two editions offered. Early buyers will also have the opportunity to have their name printed in an “honour roll” section within the release.
