Combat Records Relaunched Under New Ownership

Combat Records is preparing for yet another resurrection. Originally founded in 1982, the label made its mark with Megadeth’s 1985 debut album “Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!”, maintaining a strong connection to the band’s catalog through the early 1990s. Over the decades, Combat has also worked with influential acts like Exodus, Morbid Angel, Carcass, and more, cementing its place as a cornerstone of early US metal.

The label has changed hands multiple times, previously owned by Relativity Records, Koch Records, and later by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson and his business partner Thom Hazaert. The latest chapter sees Combat Records now under the ownership of Eternal Sound Records founder Robert Dujmusic and independent movie producer Alex Stojak.

A press release announcing the new ownership states:

“Legendary US metal label, Combat Records, is to be relaunched this year under the new ownership of former Eternal Sound Records owner, Robert Dujmusic, and Alex Stojak.

Formerly run by Megadeth’s David Ellefson, the iconic record label was responsible for early releases by Megadeth, Exodus, and Agnostic Front among many others, and is considered one of the most influential early US metal labels.

As of January 2026, Combat Records will now be run under the new ownership of independent movie producers Alex Stojak and Robert Dujmusic from its new office in Göttingen, Germany.”

Dujmusic, previously the head of Eternal Sound Records and Heavyspace Touring Agency, commented:

“It is the honor of a lifetime to continue the legacy of such an important part of heavy music history, and I’m super excited for what we’ve got coming up. Combat is back!”

David Ellefson added:

“It’s good to know that the Combat Records brand has landed into the right hands and will continue to thrive with Christian and Rob at the helm.”

The revitalized label has already expanded into distribution, PR, festivals, and touring, with its first wave of releases confirmed. These include both established acts and opportunities for emerging artists.

Joining the team are Nicole Wendeborn as A&R Manager and Christian ‘Opus’ Lawrence (ex-Cro-Mags drummer, currently with Dead by Wednesday, Earth, and Tantric) as US Manager.

Fans can expect updates soon via Combat Records’ new website and social media accounts, which will launch alongside the label’s reinvigorated operations.
