Canadian hardcore veterans Comeback Kid have announced their eighth studio album, ‘Chosen Hell,’ which is set for release on November 6 through SharpTone and Dine Alone.
The 11-track effort was produced by GRAMMY Award winner Will Putney (Body Count, Fit For An Autopsy) and features guest appearances from Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante and Incendiary’s Brendan Garrone.
LaPlante contributes to “Shedding Season,” while Garrone appears on “Yesterday’s Gone.” The album’s title track has now arrived as the latest single, accompanied by a new music video directed by Graham GS.
Comeback Kid vocalist Andrew Neufeld explained the ideas behind the title track:
“The theme of the title track ‘Chosen Hell’ on our new album touches on morality and ethics. Something as simple as right or wrong. Good or evil. Healthy or unhealthy, and our ability to make a choice. Often, we are incapable of choosing the right thing, and we find ourselves in situations that we know hold us back, therefore affecting our own well being. The outcome is what we make of it.”
Neufeld also described a more collaborative approach to the songwriting process on the new album:
“Overall, I was able to let my guard down a little bit while writing for this one, and took more input from everybody else. It was really collaborative that way, which is also kind of new for us.”
