Allegations Surface Against Former SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY Vocalist Connie Sgarbossa

This past weekend, serious allegations surfaced online against Connie Sgarbossa, the former vocalist of the hardcore band SeeYouSpaceCowboy. The claims reportedly come from a former partner who alleges misconduct during their six-year relationship with Sgarbossa.

The accusations initially appeared on a now-deactivated private social media account. Although the original posts were quickly removed, screenshots began circulating on Reddit before also being taken down.

Her partner’s full statement:

i’m finishing my blog about the torture my ex put me through for six years in hopes i help someone else or if anyone else besides the 2 i’ve already had message me is going through it, to know you aren’t alone do i am going to be your biggest advocate.

a rampant narcissist, extremely manipulative, extremely mentally abusive, stayed friends with someone who sexually assaulted me & knew about it, extremely emotionally abusive, pathological liar; stole my prescriptions i actually needed for years, financially abused me, cheated on me countless times and then gave me and others an STD because they do not use any form of protection with anyone nor do they get tested

will ruin relationships to get herself off without caring about anything else (one crample: i was in one of the worst depressive episodes of my life 2 years ago and tried to unalive myself, and she 100% knew that and still left for days to sleep around with someone who ended up virtually harassing me de they both publicized it when i begged her to not go de stay w me to help me with my mental de be a partner; de i just got screamed at when she got back)

• had me live in fear for our entire relationship.
• told me pretty much weekly that her dream unaliving is to “blow her brains out in front of me and other” so we can always be scarred.
• destroyed all 3 places we have lived in
• threw plates next to my head in fights where i was crying and begging to go to bed, leading to our cat stepping in glads shards.
• i have way too many voice records of her talking about how much she hates her fans / band / management when in the past i would have to clean her up for tours, when she quit her band, i told her to take the post down de to talk about it when she was with her band the next day for practice – obviously didn’t listen de blamrd her suicide attempts, substance abuse, etc on everything that doesn’t make her have to take accountability
• made me pay her for intimacy (not a good time for me clearly) during my depression episode 2 years ago because otherwise she would tell me everything i should change about myself.
• told me why she always chose other people over me de made sure to let me know how much better look wise, physically; ete they were than me de whenever i tried to leave or even just sleep in my fucking car to get away from her; she would try to kill herself
• baited me regularly; never cared about how i felt. it was always (had to be) her feelings over mine. anyone who knows me will know this was my life for the entire relationship.
• she has portrayed me to be insane to everyone.
• i took care of her for everything. i paid rent for 6 years, she never had bills, i got all the food / groceries, travel, clothes / makeup / literally name it dei got it. i got her a therapist for a while and did everything to keep her as safe as i could. oh, we were also engaged 6 months into dating but she never wanted to make it
• isolated me from friends and family
• i have never been in such long de tiresome fights in my life, and my previous one was incredibly physically de emotionally abusive, so that should say a lot. again, anyone in my life will know that and has most likely witnessed our fights.
• lied to me about what people have said about me and now has burned bridges forever because of that de fucks up the narrative.
• borderline predator behavior with 2/4 people she’s been involved with
• would sleep with me and not tell me about anyone else prior until after or when i found out de that lef to the worst mental breakdowns as i felt so violated and disgusting
• showed up at my place less than 2 months ago drunk de unannounced.
• would hit herself, punch walls, call me names de swear at me, would burn herself in front of me, down pills in front of me, run into her room and say she was going to kill herself de lock the door while holding a knife or drugs and caused me to break 3 doors, and a million more.

this is the most unsafe human i have ever dated let alone met. and if you know me, you know how many fucked up people i’ve met and my past relationships. de be she is apparently sleeping with the serwork community left de right: she is actually unsafe to sleep with. doesnt use protection, doesnt get tested nor asks for one de if she does she believes words and doesn’t disclose to anyone she sleeps with about anyone else for their own autonomy de health. so again, if you need my advice or you need to get the fuck away; i am a safe place de will help you immediately, just get my # if you don’t have it already

i’m not posting this for sympathy: i could care less. i’m posting this because i’m finally not scared of whatever fucked up ramifications she’s always going to threaten de i can’t excuse this person or their actions any longer this is why i have been a fucking shell de why my spark has been gone for so long. i learned how to be the worst version of myself because of growing up with her de learning what “love” was to her: i was 22 when we started seriously dating. unfortunately this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

In the days following the online fallout, both Sgarbossa and her former partner have addressed the situation separately. On the night of May 26, Sgarbossa issued a brief statement via social media:

“I have been talking with my ex for the past couple days. There has been a lot going on and things that were taken from a private account have been spread. There were exaggerations due to the heat of the moment that were written. I will have a statement from her and I soon.”

Sgarbossa also shared a follow-up message allegedly from her ex, indicating that a joint statement is in the works to clarify and address the claims.

These developments come months after SeeYouSpaceCowboy disbanded earlier this year, following public backlash tied to Sgarbossa’s objection to a tour featuring Dance Gavin Dance—a band previously involved in their own controversy. In 2024, SeeYouSpaceCowboy had also cut ties with another touring act in response to similar public outcry over misconduct allegations.

As of now, further details remain scarce, and both parties have hinted at more context to come.
