Covert Stations have released the latest entry in their ongoing cover song series, this time putting a fresh spin on Cheap Trick’s 1988 hit, “The Flame.”
The project, led by vocalist Craig Cirinelli (Hidden Cabins, (Damn) This Desert Air), recruited Vision Of Disorder guitarist Matt Baumbach to perform on the track alongside drummer Brian Leahy (Eyesawn, Hidden Cabins), bassist Mark Wilkinson (The Evening Sons, Rydell), and keyboardist Chris Badami (I Can Make A Mess).
Badami also handled the mixing duties for the recording.
The cover marks the eighth installment in Covert Stations’ ongoing series of reimagined songs. Previous releases from the collective have included material originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac, The Cult, INXS, R.E.M., and several other artists.
