Mark Tremonti Says He’s “Working Real Hard” On New CREED Music

Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti has shared updates on the band’s plans for new music, revealing that ideas are already in the works as the band looks ahead following their recent tours.

In a recent interview with Cutter’s Rockcast, Tremonti explained:

“When we did all this touring over the past couple of years, we were so busy that there was no way to really put new music together. The tour was already on sale, so jumping off it to record an album wouldn’t have been the right move. But now that we have time, everyone—promoters, agents, managers—is like, ‘You’ve gotta have something new for the next tour.’ So I’ve been working hard on ideas so I can get together with Scott [Stapp] and start writing. It’ll probably be the middle of next year before we officially start.”

Tremonti also opened up about the massive backlog of riffs and ideas he’s collected over the years. In an August 2024 interview with Vanyaland, he said:

“I’ve got thousands of ideas, literally. I’ve been hoarding them since I bought my first little handheld tape recorder in junior high or high school.”

He emphasized the creative challenge of distinguishing Creed from his other projects, Alter Bridge and his solo work, telling Guitar Interactive in August 2024:

“I love writing music in many different ways. With all my projects, I have to figure out how to make each one its own thing. For Creed, we want to honor what people loved about the band—big melodies, the sound from back in the day—without getting too progressive like we do in ALTER BRIDGE or my solo work. Our last album, Full Circle, strayed a bit from that, so this time we want to bring back that original vibe.”
