New York hardcore legends Cro-Mags have unveiled a freshly re-recorded version of their 1986 track “Hard Times,” which is now available to stream online. The updated recording was revisited in the studio as part of the ‘Harley Flanagan: Wired For Chaos’ documentary, which was released in 2024.
In addition to its digital release, the new take on “Hard Times” is also available physically through Decibel Magazine’s long-running flexi disc series.
The song originally appeared on the band’s debut album The Age Of Quarrel, a cornerstone release in hardcore history that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. To mark the milestone, Cro-Mags will perform a special anniversary set at the upcoming Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly, scheduled for May 02–03 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA.
