Cro-Mags Premiere “Wired For Chaos” Music Video

New York City hardcore pioneers Cro-Mags have returned with their first new music in six years, unveiling “Wired For Chaos,” a new single and music video that shares its name with the 2024 documentary centered on frontman Harley Flanagan and his turbulent life story.

The track leans into the band’s signature blend of hardcore, thrash, and beatdown intensity, with Flanagan describing its structure as a shifting, aggressive arc that reflects both cinematic energy and lived experience.

“It comes in with an aggressive metal intro befitting a UFC walk-in or a video game, then bursts into a more traditional HC thrash vibe before returning to a heavy beatdown at the end in an unmistakable Cro-Mags style.”

Lyrically, Flanagan says the song is rooted in trauma, environment, and the psychological aftermath of a chaotic upbringing.

“The song is literally about being programmed and wired for chaos from birth, not just by environment, but by parents, trauma, childhood experiences, and the resulting PTSD that I personally struggle with as a result.”

The accompanying video, directed by Rex Miller, pulls from live footage captured across recent Cro-Mags shows, highlighting the band’s wide-reaching fanbase that spans hardcore, punk, metal, and beyond.

Alongside the release, Cro-Mags confirmed they are working with BLKIIBLK on their seventh studio album, currently expected in 2027.
