Asking Alexandria vocalist and guitarist Danny Worsnop has released a deeply personal track, “I Run To You”, a song he originally began writing over a decade ago. Worsnop says that at the time he “never really knew what it was about,” but after embracing Christianity, he revisited the song and reworked certain parts to reflect his faith.
In a video shared on social media, Worsnop was moved to tears in the studio while recording, realizing the song’s significance in expressing his spiritual journey. He explained, “This song shows the incredible longing and yearning that I had in my heart to find God.”
Speaking about the track ahead of its release, Worsnop added:
“This was very unplanned but I found a song I wrote over a decade ago and it screamed so loudly how desperately something inside me needed and was calling out for God. It’s not a country song, and doesn’t ‘align’ with the sound or style of the upcoming album but it was so powerful hearing it back and I knew in my soul that I had to stop everything I was doing and put it out into the world. I hope it brings some of Jesus’ light into your heart.”
Worsnop also reflected on the song’s long journey:
“This song was lost in Dropbox purgatory for close to 15 years until I found it today and was hit with a tidal wave of emotions. Looking back I heard such a loud cry from my soul to find and feel God long before I did, and I knew as soon as it was done playing that I had to spend some time today re-singing it with a couple changes and share it. It’s rough around the edges but it’s something I felt very strongly about just putting out into the world as it was. Jesus loves you.”

Why would God allow someone into Heaven when they deny the very One who made the way to Heaven? Therefore some will go to everlasting life and others to everlasting punishment. Put your faith and trust in Jesus. God loves you that much that He was willing to step into His creation as a man to literally die for you so YOU could be free from the grip of sin and the power of the devil. He died so YOU could be forgiven and have everlasting life. He died so YOU could have a real relationship with Him. Sounds like winning to me.
