A fresh 23-song tribute celebrating the influential alternative metal pioneers Deftones was released on June 20th, featuring a diverse lineup of artists covering tracks from across the band’s multi-platinum catalog. This special compilation raises funds for Oasis For Youth, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit dedicated to helping at-risk youth aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing or facing homelessness.
The project’s organizers shared a heartfelt message about the cause behind the release:
“By supporting this tribute, you’re directly helping Oasis for Youth in Bloomington, MN — a place where vulnerable young people find vital support and community. We’re proud to donate all proceeds to an organization that champions compassion, inclusivity, and empowering youth. With youth homelessness at an all-time high, your support is more important than ever. Please consider donating to Oasis or a similar organization in your own community.”
Marking three decades since their debut and approaching their tenth studio album, Deftones continue to grow both artistically and commercially. Earlier this spring, they completed their first-ever arena headlining tour, selling out all 26 shows on the initial leg. Fueled by a loyal fanbase and a recent surge of younger listeners connecting through social media, Deftones are experiencing a well-deserved recognition for their far-reaching musical and cultural impact.
The tribute features artists from major music hubs including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Minneapolis, London, and the band’s hometown of Sacramento. These contributors selected songs spanning Deftones’ extensive catalog and delivered interpretations across various genres — showcasing the band’s wide-ranging influence. As you revisit familiar tracks, this collection also offers a chance to discover new artists worthy of your support.
We thank you for your ongoing passion for Deftones, and for lending your ears to this tribute. ‘For The Song You Saved: A Tribute to Deftones’ honors the band’s lasting legacy while highlighting Oasis for Youth’s critical work supporting the young people who have been part of Deftones’ recent resurgence.
