Denzel Curry may be preparing to dive even deeper into the world of hardcore. The acclaimed rapper recently took to social media to reveal that he’s been considering a full-fledged hardcore release, hinting that it could even impact his future output as a hip-hop artist.
Posting on July 24, Curry shared:
“Slowly Flirting With The Idea of Creating A Hardcore Tape
And if that blows up I’ll Probably Flirt with idea of not rapping as much
Who knows”
The comments arrive amid an increasingly active stretch for Curry within the hardcore and metalcore scenes. Last week alone, he made a pair of live appearances alongside Pain Of Truth, further fueling speculation that a heavier creative direction could be on the horizon.
Curry has already established a strong connection with Knocked Loose, having collaborated with the band earlier this year on the track “Hive Mind.” The two acts are also set to embark on a North American co-headlining tour this fall.
Before that trek gets underway, Knocked Loose and Curry have announced a free last-minute show scheduled for July 28 at 314 Scholes St. in Brooklyn, NY. The event will feature the live debut of “Hive Mind,” with Combust opening the show.
While a dedicated hardcore project from Curry has yet to be confirmed, his affinity for heavy music has been evident for years. He previously toured with Trash Talk in 2017, performed a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s “Bulls On Parade” in 2019, and later teamed up with members of Bad Brains for a performance of “I Against I.”
More recently, Curry spent part of 2026 touring across Europe and the UK alongside Deftones, further cementing his ties to the heavier side of alternative music.
Whether a hardcore release ultimately materializes remains to be seen, but Curry’s latest comments suggest the possibility is becoming increasingly real.
