European deathcore heavyweights Distant have surprise released Tyrannotophia Redux, a fully re-imagined and re-recorded version of their 2019 debut album Tyrannotophia.
The band completely rebuilt the record from the ground up — re-recording all vocals, reworking guest spots, and giving it a brand-new mix and master courtesy of Simone Pietroforte. The result matches the punishing production of their most recent material.
Tyrannotophia Redux also features a fresh lineup of guest appearances:
- “Zeroten” – Harry Davies (Guilt) & Ben Mason (Bound in Fear)
- “Abhorrence” – Josh Davies (Ingested)
- “Heirs of Torment” – Lukas Nikolai (Mental Cruelty)
Distant commented: “‘Tyrannotophia’ was a turning point for us when it first dropped, and we wanted to give it the treatment it deserves with the sound we’ve built over the years. Same lore, same brutality — but bigger, heavier, and more refined.”
Alongside the release, the band have unveiled a music video for the updated version of “False Gods” and announced extensive touring plans.
