The couple who were filmed having sex on a Ferris wheel during this past June’s Download Festival have now faced the consequences in court.
33-year-old Innes Miller has pleaded guilty to outraging public decency following the incident, which went viral online and subsequently prompted a police investigation. The footage showed Miller engaging in a sexual act with a woman while the pair were aboard the festival’s Ferris wheel.
According to The Nottingham Post, Miller’s boss was among those who saw the footage and confronted him about the incident. Testimony in court also detailed how children were present at the festival and could see what was taking place on the ride.
Miller was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs along with a £32 victim surcharge. The woman involved was not prosecuted after admitting her involvement in the incident.
The pair reportedly told authorities that they had only met on the morning of the festival.
Miller initially declined to comment on the incident. He was also already subject to a community order stemming from a previous drug-driving conviction at the time of the Download Festival incident, which contributed to the seriousness of the charge brought against him.
