Dying Wish Debut “I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair)” Video

A brand new single from Dying Wish titled “I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair)” dropped today, February 26th. The song comes with a music video directed by Eric Richter (Evanescence, Knocked Loose), which can be viewed below.

Vocalist Emma Boster shared insight into the track, which was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning Will Putney (Body Count, Better Lovers). She explained:

“‘I Brought You My Soul…’ is about being one of many affected by the state of the world we are living in. Constantly witnessing brutality and injustice has taken a toll on our collective mental health. [The lyric] ‘I am miserable yet I am sane’ refers to the idea that being impacted by tragedies like those happening in Gaza and on American soil is, unfortunately, normal. My fear is that one day we will become numb to these violent events as they escalate, simply because we are so conditioned to living with it.”

Boster continued, noting that this track represents the beginning of their third LP and how the band’s goal is to innovate beyond their previous sound:

“This is the first step toward our third LP, and with it, we aim to create something different from our first two releases. We’ve dialed in our sound and ethos as a band, but this time we want to push boundaries and create a more authentic version of Dying Wish.”

Guitarist Pedro Carrillo co-wrote the video treatment and added:

“‘I’m fucking miserable yet I am sane,’ with everything Dying Wish has ever done, we’ve pushed ourselves to be as honest as possible. Inauthenticity is the mind killer, especially in today’s world where everyone is faking it—putting up a front. The world is crumbling, foreign affairs are a mess, and the bare minimum to survive is harder to reach. This video is my love letter to my family and to everyone who has supported us, through our highest highs and lowest lows. Working with Eric Richter was incredible, and he pushed us to ensure every element felt real. We are devoted to each other, no matter what life throws at us.”
