German electronicore stars Electric Callboy have unveiled a new music video for their latest single, “The Way You Are”, ahead of the release of their upcoming album, ‘TANZNEID’.
Directed by Schillobros., the video leans heavily into late-’90s and early-2000s boy band aesthetics, complete with the polished romance and dramatic visuals associated with the era. However, true to Electric Callboy’s style, the band inject a darker and considerably heavier twist into the nostalgic concept.
“The Way You Are” will appear on ‘TANZNEID’, which is scheduled to arrive on August 7th.
Discussing the track, the band explained:
“‘The Way You Are’ started with a pretty simple idea: what if the sweetest late-’90s boy band love ballad suddenly turned into one of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written? We loved playing with that contrast, both musically and visually. The result is probably one of the most unexpected songs we’ve ever released, and definitely one of our favorites on ‘TANZNEID’.”
With its blend of boy band-inspired melodies, tongue-in-cheek presentation, and crushing heaviness, “The Way You Are” continues the genre-bending approach that has helped make Electric Callboy one of modern metal’s most unpredictable and entertaining acts.
