Eric Morotti Apologizes For The Way He Handled His Exit From Suffocation

Former Suffocation drummer Eric Morotti has apologized for the way he handled his explosive departure from the death metal band. In a statement posted on May 3, Morotti said he used “hurtful and disrespectful” language in his April exit post and took responsibility for the impact of his words.

Morotti had initially accused his former bandmates of being “toxic” and “abusive,” while saying he was stepping away for his health and to focus on Sanguisugabogg. Suffocation later pushed back, saying his claims were false and that he had actually been fired because of scheduling conflicts.

In his apology, Morotti said he wished the band nothing but the best and called his time with them meaningful, saying he was grateful for the tours, albums, and experience. Suffocation has since brought in John Longstreth of Origin to fill in on drums.
