Biohazard bassist/vocalist Evan Seinfeld has launched a new fitness app aimed specifically at fans of heavy music.
The musician, who has pursued a variety of projects outside of Biohazard over the years, recently introduced Full Metal Fitness, a metal-themed workout and fitness platform through which Seinfeld personally provides coaching to select members.
During a September 16 appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Seinfeld explained what inspired him to create the new venture.
According to Seinfeld, many of the metal fans he grew up alongside are now in their 40s, 50s and 60s, and he wanted to use his experience to encourage them to take a more active approach to their health and fitness.
“All my fans, the guys like you and me who grew up listening to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath and Metallica, are all our age. They’re in their 40s, 50s, 60s.”
Seinfeld then offered his blunt assessment of the fitness habits he sees among portions of the metal community, while emphasizing that his intention is to help rather than judge.
“I gotta be honest and call it how I see it. It seems like 90% of the fans of metal are out of shape, overweight, eating toxic food, not exercising, not working out.”
He continued by explaining that helping others has become a major source of motivation for him.
“And [I’m] not like saying it in a judgmental way. I’m here to inspire, and I’m here to help. I really got into helping people. This is like my new thing that gets me excited.”
Full Metal Fitness is the latest project from Seinfeld outside of his longstanding career in music. In addition to his work with Biohazard, he has pursued acting and other ventures, while more recently launching the Mantorship support community for men.
