More than 15 years after Emmure and The Acacia Strain were caught up in a highly publicized feud, Frankie Palmeri and Vincent Bennett shared the stage at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY.
Palmeri joined The Acacia Strain during their September 17 performance at the festival, stepping out to perform “Whoa! Shut It Down” alongside Bennett and the band. Fan-filmed footage of the unexpected collaboration has since surfaced online.
The appearance comes years after the two groups were embroiled in a 2009 dispute that ultimately resulted in a physical altercation involving members of the bands. The feud became a recurring topic among fans long after the incident itself, despite the two sides eventually putting the situation behind them.
In fact, Palmeri recently found himself addressing the old controversy again after responding to a social media detractor earlier this week. The exchange came despite the beef having been publicly regarded as long resolved.
Now, rather than revisiting the rivalry, Palmeri and Bennett have quite literally shared a stage, bringing one of the more unlikely pairings from the metalcore scene together for a performance at one of the year’s major U.S. festivals.
