Fred Durst has hinted at plans for a new artist-driven “gathering” aimed at musicians and performers who feel overlooked by major festivals and award shows.
The Limp Bizkit frontman shared the idea while responding to a recent social media post from Lil Wayne, who expressed frustration over being repeatedly left out of events such as Coachella and the Grammy Awards.
Wayne wrote:
“It’s truly a humbling experience when events like Coachella & the Grammys come around & like clockwork, I’m uninvited & uninvolved. I appreciate my position or space I hold in ya heart & mind if so bc you’re the humbling experience that’s timeless & 4dat I thk u. Iaintshitwithoutu”
Durst soon replied with a proposal of his own:
“Let’s start our own experience gathering and our own acknowledgment event to welcome all of the uninvited – i’ve got a couple ideas i’ve been working on for quite some while now – happy to elaborate if ever interested – sending good vibes”
The concept would fit squarely within Durst’s long-running embrace of outsider culture and unexpected lineups. Recent Limp Bizkit ventures such as the Loserville tours leaned heavily into unconventional bookings, featuring names like Corey Feldman and Riff Raff.
Durst’s comments also arrive shortly after James Shaffer said he has been pushing for the return of Family Values Tour, the late ‘90s and early 2000s package tour that famously mixed heavy bands with hip-hop acts.
There is also historical precedent for the idea. Ozzfest was originally launched after Ozzy Osbourne was reportedly deemed not “relevant” enough for Lollapalooza, prompting Sharon Osbourne to create one of metal’s defining summer festivals.
Whether Durst’s idea becomes a full-scale event remains to be seen, but the possibility of a new festival celebrating artists outside the mainstream mold is already generating interest.

That’s already a thing 😂
TPUSA has that market cornered already. I wouldn’t want to cross Erika Kirk after what happened to that last guy.
Easily achievable if not already done en masse. But at the same time there are already non “mainstream” artists at Coachella. I checked out Fleshwater and French Police.

How are these people not grasping that Fred wants to make it his own? No one has obviously read the article. In every Facebook form. People are missing this by a longshot. It’s insane how retarded people literally are.
Those Festivals already exist
They’re literally headlining one of the biggest festivals in the US…
