GWAR have launched a new fundraising initiative to support former vocalist and founding member Chuck Varga, known to fans as The Sexecutioner, amid his ongoing cancer battle.
Varga’s diagnosis was first revealed earlier this year, with the band previously encouraging fans to donate blood in his honor. Now, as medical costs continue to rise—including treatment, hospice care, specialized equipment, and additional nursing support—the group has expanded their efforts with a new charity auction.
At the center of the campaign is a rare piece of GWAR history: The Sexecutioner’s axe stage prop, which will be made available to the highest bidder. Proceeds from the auction, along with additional merchandise sales and donations, will go directly toward Varga’s care and support for his wife, Bambi, who has stepped away from work to care for him full-time.
The fundraiser also includes exclusive limited-edition items, including a new t-shirt designed by Varga himself, created specifically for the campaign.
A statement shared through the campaign highlighted Varga’s decades-long role in shaping the band’s identity, noting his contributions as a performer, illustrator, and founding creative force behind GWAR’s visual universe.
Bob Gorman (Bonesnapper) also praised Varga’s impact, saying his artistic work and character design helped define GWAR’s legacy and continues to influence the band to this day.
Fans can contribute through donations, merchandise purchases, and the auction platform, with all proceeds directed toward Varga’s ongoing care.
