GWAR Announce New EP & Comic Set ‘The Return Of Gor Gor’, Debut “Lot Lizard” Video

GWAR are celebrating 40 years of carnage in style with the announcement of a brand-new multimedia set titled The Return Of Gor Gor. Set for release on July 25th via Pit Records/Z2 Comics, the collection pairs a new comic book with an accompanying EP featuring three new tracks and four live recordings.

The comic follows the resurrection of Gor Gor, the band’s long-lost, three-ton Tyrannosaurus Rex. According to the official press release, the graphic novel explores Gor Gor’s journey from an orphaned dino to a towering figure navigating a depraved and chaotic world. The story poses the question: will he rejoin the Scumdogs of the Universe or bring about total destruction?

The accompanying EP includes three new studio recordings—mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge)—alongside four live tracks captured during GWAR’s performance at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA.

“Lot Lizard”, the first single from the release, arrived today (April 15th) with an appropriately grotesque video. Speaking on the track, Blöthar the Berserker shared:

“’Lot Lizard’ is a blistering return to GWAR as a punk metal powerhouse with a sense of humor. What could be more charming than a song about a crack-addicted cross-dressing dinosaur prostitute that shreds weiners at truck stop pickle parks? Nuttin honey. That’s what. The song rocks. Listen ya mooks…”

He added another dose of absurd lore:

“The last time I saw Gor Gor he was just a wee fart dragon. He had crawled on the hood of my Kia Soul and was holding on for dear life while I drove to the store to buy Clamato… Apparently, he’s all grown up and looking for revenge. This record chronicles his struggles as a young Dino-American trying to make his way in a cruel world.”
