Hacktivist have undergone a significant lineup change, with only vocalists Jermaine “J” Hurley and JJ Olifent remaining in the group. Guitarist James Hewitt, bassist Josh Gurner, and drummer Richard Hawking have officially exited the British rap-metal outfit. Notably, both Gurner and Hawking had been with the band since its inception in 2011.
The band issued a statement today, March 24th, addressing the departures:
“Today we’re announcing that drummer Richard Hawking, guitarist James Hewitt, and bassist Josh Gurner will not be continuing in the band with us. We’re super grateful for their contributions and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Tough decisions have been made on all sides, but we can assure all of our supporters that there’s no bad blood between us. It’s all love.
Updates to follow about a fresh new lineup this week, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.”
Hacktivist are expected to reveal their revamped lineup in the coming days.
