Howard Jones Posts Subtle Hint That Long-Awaited Project With Adam D, Burn Eternal, May Be Coming Sooner Rather Than Later

The “Godfather of Metalcore” just dropped a New Year’s breadcrumb that should have the entire scene on high alert.

If you’ve been tracking the movements of Howard Jones (Light The Torch, SION, ex-Killswitch Engage) lately, your “new music” sensors should be redlining. In a recent New Year’s Eve post, Jones shared a carousel of images reflecting on his year—but it was one specific slide that sent fans into a frenzy.

Tucked between shots of Jones with producer and Spiritbox bassist Josh Gilbert, was a behind-the-scenes look at what appears to be an official promotional photoshoot featuring Jones alongside his former partner-in-crime, Adam Dutkiewicz (Adam D).

The “Full Circle” Symmetry

This pairing is the mirror image of Killswitch Engage history. While Howard was fronting KSE, Adam D was famously moonlighting with (then-former) vocalist Jesse Leach in the somber, melodic Times of Grace.

Now that Leach is back leading the KSE ship, the roles have reversed: Adam is reuniting with Howard for their highly anticipated new project, Burn Eternal. The project was officially confirmed back in 2023, and since then, fans have been starved for a single note of audio.

Is the Wait Almost Over?

All signs point to a 2026 takeover. During an appearance on the Garza Podcast last year, Adam D confirmed that the project with Jones was “nearly finished,” noting that they were just putting the final touches on the record.
