French avant-garde metal unit Igorrr have released the third single from their upcoming album Amen—a sonically punishing track titled “Infestis.” The record is due out on September 19th through Metal Blade Records.
The genre-bending brainchild of Gautier Serre, Igorrr fuse elements of black metal, traditional Tibetan instruments, and abrasive electronic distortion to craft their uniquely chaotic sound. According to Serre, this new track explores a deeply personal and emotional descent:
“‘Infestis’ goes deep into severe matters. A need to explore these feelings. Nothing is a joke here: black metal influences, traditional Tibetan instruments, and excessive distortion to make it even darker. It’s an exploration of an inner feeling that you are possessed and infested by a bad spirit. No fight is possible; you have already lost.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Dehn Sora, visually amplifies the song’s bleak and harrowing mood.
Amen will mark Igorrr’s follow-up to 2020’s Spirituality and Distortion and continues the project’s legacy of pushing musical boundaries into unpredictable and uncharted territory.
