Sunmancer – Atlanta, GA

Sunmancer was formed in the Atlanta, GA area in 2022 and had readied and released their debut EP Nothing Ever Happens by November 2023; all before performing their first official show in April of 2024. While the band itself is brand new, vocalist Justin Mazlik and guitarist Kyle Mazlik had cut their teeth in the music industry and touring over a decade ago in their old band, Broadcast The Nightmare – who were signed to Sumerian Records at the time – before taking a break and starting over all these years later. Now, the band has just wrapped up a mini-tour opening up for August Burns Red, so if the band keeps up the momentum they have currently, you’ll be hearing about them one way or the other in the near future.

Spit On Your Grave – Monterrey, Mexico
For Fans of: The Black Dahlia Murder, Kataklysm, Behemoth
While scouring the internet, we’ve discovered something not too surprising – Mexico boasts some impressive bands. However, these bands often fly under the radar, almost as if the border between Mexico and the neighboring United States applies to music as strictly as it does to physical crossings. Among the gems we uncovered is Spit On Your Grave, a death metal band hailing from Monterrey. If you’re a fan of The Black Dahlia Murder and Kataklysm, chances are you’ll appreciate Spit On Your Grave too. The band aspires to expand beyond Mexico’s borders, so if you enjoy their music, and happen to see them coming to your town (or nearby) be sure to support them.

The progressive melodic metalcore scene is taking a huge hit with the announcement that one of the most influential and under-rated bands in the subgenre, Misery Signals, will be saying farewell and cease to exist following their upcoming farewell tour this year but it is up to bands like Counterparts, and the band we’re highlighting below, Single Wound, to carry on the tradition of seamlessly blending beautiful melodic guitar work with aggression and cathartic heaviness, and the Ontario, Canada carry their influences and creativity to the next level with their latest release Death Is Kindness, which the band released independently on May 24th, 2024.

Renounced – London, UK
For Fans of: PoisonTheWell, Wristmeetrazor, Unearth
When Renounced was announced as the supporting band for Misery Signals‘ European/UK farewell tour dates, curiosity struck, prompting a dive into the depths of Spotify to check them out. What was discovered was that Renounced embodies a throwback to early-2000s metalcore, often referred to as ‘true metalcore’ before the term was co-opted by Hot Topic (though that’s a discussion for another day). They’ve gained traction in recent years, securing bookings at major metal festivals in their native land, such as Outbreak Festival. With continued momentum, they could be on the cusp of gaining more worldwide recognition.

Audience Of Rain – Akron, OH
For Fans of: Beartooth, I Prevail, We Came As Romans
Akron’s Audience Of Rain has made a name for themselves in their home state of Ohio with their potent arena riffs and melodic choruses that are perfect for audience sing-alongs. The band presents great-sounding production and a high-quality visual experience with their music videos. Teaming up with Affiant Records seems to have further elevated the band, and it seems like a matter of time before this band catches fire. Monochromatic Black – Long Island, NY
For Fans of: Fallujah, Entheos, The Zenith Passage
Monochromatic Black has been delivering high-quality progressive death metal since their formation. The band has gained increasing recognition since the release of their debut EP, Pneuma, in 2019. The Long Island group is currently promoting their third EP, Predacious, and will be joining The Convalescence on tour starting June 8th in Toledo, Ohio.

District105 – Saigon, Vietnam
For Fans of: Hatebreed, As I Lay Dying, Knocked Loose
The Mosh Network became aware of Vietnamese metalcore band District105 by an email the band sent to the site, and upon investigation, we found the band is pretty diverse in the beatdown hardcore and metalcore realm. Fans of Knocked Loose and even old heads into Hatebreed, Terror, etc. should give District105 a shot. They often mix in modern metalcore and nu-metalcore and some elements of hip-hip creating a fresh new approach to the genre.
