KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD Take Flight in Surreal “Grow Wings And Fly” Video

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have just premiered the video for “Grow Wings And Fly”, a track from their upcoming orchestral project Phantom Island. The Aussie psych-rock mainstays will drop their 27th full-length effort on June 13th via (P)doom Records.

Originally recorded during the same sessions as their latest release Flight b741, Phantom Island was later reimagined with orchestral arrangements, taking the band’s exploratory sound into a sweeping new direction.

The accompanying video, directed by Hayden Somerville, adds to the song’s dreamlike momentum. Somerville described the shoot as a coastal adventure with the band and their crew, saying:

“There are so many strange and beautiful ways to grow wings and fly. We had a very special time down the coast with the band and our crew, releasing our sea creature — who somehow makes me feel a little ill and completely full of joy at the same time.”
