Kingdom Of Giants are gearing up to return with a new full-length, announcing ‘Usurper’ for November 13 via SharpTone Records while simultaneously premiering a music video for the album’s latest single, “Reign.”
The new record marks the first Kingdom Of Giants album to feature JT Gutierrez, who handles bass and clean vocals following his appointment as the replacement for Jonny Reeves earlier this year.
Adding another first to the album’s creation, vocalist Dana Willax stepped behind the production desk for ‘Usurper’, while also directing the newly released “Reign” music video.
For Willax, the album represents the culmination of a particularly eventful five years for the band. Despite the obstacles along the way, the group found renewed energy by getting back into a room together and developing the material face-to-face.
“The last five years have been full of highs, lows, wins, losses, and roadblocks but at the end of the day we are just so happy and fortunate to continue making music that we love and to share it with anyone who cares to listen. We put our hearts and souls into this album and even though start to finish it only took us eight months, it’s feels like it’s 15 years in the making. I’m so thankful to the guys for everything they brought to the table in this process. It felt good to all be jammed into one room and hash out all our ideas in person like the good old days.”
As for “Reign,” Willax singled out several moments on the track, particularly its breakdown, which he says was one of his favorite sections of the entire album.
“This song has a couple of my favorite parts from the entire record, the breakdown in particular was very fun to mix and I’m hoping it hits live.”
‘Usurper’ will feature 11 tracks, including “A Part Of You,” which features Gabi Rose, along with the previously unveiled “Reign.”
