Kittie have unveiled a new remix of their 25th anniversary re-recording of “Spit,” this time reworked by NOWHERE2RUN, the electronic/industrial project spearheaded by Code Orange members Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose.
The remix takes the ‘Spit XXV’ version of the song — originally re-recorded by Kittie as part of their 25th anniversary celebration of their gold-certified 1999 debut ‘Spit’ — and pushes it into darker, more abrasive territory. Morgan and Balderose reimagine the track through a distorted, industrial lens while retaining the confrontational core that made the original a defining moment in late-’90s heavy music.
Kittie released ‘Spit XXV’ last year as a standalone EP, revisiting several songs from the landmark album with updated performances and production. This newly released remix builds on that project, bridging generations of heavy music by pairing one of nü metal’s most influential bands with two of modern hardcore’s most experimental figures.
