Imagine showing up for “Redneck” and getting a sermon on the Advent. That was the reality for some confused metalheads in South Carolina this past weekend. Due to a massive listing error on StubHub, a Christian folk concert was mistakenly advertised as a performance by Richmond’s groove metal kings, Lamb of God.

The Christmas “Behold” Blunder

The confusion stemmed from a December 20th event at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. The venue was hosting Andrew Peterson’s long-running holiday tour, “Behold the Lamb of God,” which is based on his 2004 conceptual album about the birth of Christ.

Despite the event being a folk-roots Christmas tradition, StubHub allegedly listed the tickets with the band’s photo and name, causing some fans to buy in under the impression that Randy Blythe and company were closing out the year with a surprise intimate set.

Breaking Down the Snafu:

• The Listing: StubHub featured Lamb of God’s logo and likeness for a 13-city Christian folk tour finale.
• The Reality: The show featured acoustic guitars and stories of the Old Testament rather than blast beats.
• The Response: StubHub has officially apologized and is offering full refunds to anyone who bought tickets under the false impression.

StubHub Issues Official Apology

After the mistake went viral, the ticket resale giant issued a statement confirming they would honor their FanProtect Guarantee:

“We acknowledge the listing for the December 20 event at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium was misleading and apologize for the confusion this caused. Ahead of the show we updated the event page and reached out to customers to clarify the event details. Anyone who purchased tickets under the impression this was a different performance is encouraged to contact us—we’ll honor a full refund.”

Randy Blythe Weighs In

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe didn’t miss the chance to poke fun at the situation. Posting to his Instagram story, Blythe set the record straight on where the band actually plays when they roll through South Carolina:

“We usually play @groundzerovenue NOT Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. This why StubHub Sucks. Merry Christmas, Spartanburg.”

Ironically, this isn’t the first time the band has been “blessed” by accident. Back in 2014, the band’s logo was famously used on promotional materials for an Easter event in Salem, VA, without the band’s permission.

What’s Next for (The Real) Lamb of God?

If you’re looking for the actual band, you’ll have to wait until March 2026. Lamb of God is set to return to the road for what is already being called the heaviest tour of the year, featuring a stacked support bill of Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg.
