Left To Suffer & King 810 Members Cover System Of A Down’s “Sugar”

Left To Suffer vocalist Taylor Barber and King 810 frontman David Gunn have teamed up to deliver a cover of System Of A Down’s breakout 1998 single “Sugar.”

Originally released on May 24th, 1998, “Sugar” served as the world’s introduction to System Of A Down and would go on to achieve both gold and platinum certification in the United States decades later, officially earning those milestones in July 2022.

Barber’s connection to the System Of A Down camp runs deeper than this cover, as he also fronts Seven Hours After Violet—the project led by System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. In fact, Odadjian himself reacted to the cover in the comments, simply writing:

“Damn brother!”

Barber has previously performed alongside members of System Of A Down as well, stepping in to handle vocals on “Prison Song” during a 2024 performance that featured John Dolmayan on drums.

With this latest collaboration, Barber and Gunn put their own modern spin on a nü-metal classic, bridging generations of heavy music in the process.
