Former Judas Priest Drummer Les Binks Has Passed Away at 73

Legendary drummer and former member of Judas Priest, Les Binks, has passed away at the age of 73. Binks was an integral part of the band’s classic late-70s era, contributing his talents to Stained Class, Killing Machine, and the band’s first official live album, Unleashed In The East. His death comes just one day before what would have been his 74th birthday on April 15th.

In addition to his time with Judas Priest, Binks worked with a wide array of acts as both a live and session drummer over the decades. His impact on the metal scene was formally recognized in 2022 when he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame alongside his former bandmates. That same induction also marked Binks’ final live performance with Judas Priest.

The band issued a heartfelt statement on social media tonight (April 14th), reflecting on Binks’ legacy and his contributions to their storied history:

We are deeply saddened about the passing of Les and send our love to his family, friends and fans.
