MAKE THEM SUFFER’s Alex Reade Addresses Onstage Illness In Cincinnati: ‘I Think The Whole Tour Party Is Sick’

Make Them Suffer keyboardist/vocalist Alex Reade was forced to step offstage mid-set during the band’s November 23rd performance at Bogart’s in Cincinnati, OH. Battling an intense bout of illness, Reade exited during the seventh song of the night, ‘Epitaph’, with the band attempting to continue through ‘Soul Decay’ before ultimately ending the show early. The group had been consistently performing a ten-song set on this North American run.

Reade later updated fans on November 24th via Instagram, explaining the severity of what happened onstage. In her words:

“Hey Cincinnati!!

Last night I was so sick on stage I had to leave the set/stage early which I have never had to do in my life and in almost 20 years of performing.

I started to black out/pass out on stage, and as the set progressed, I was physically unable to stand and continue to perform before imminent collapse, my body was shaking.

Cincinnati I love playing your city, you always bring incredible energy, I’m sorry to let you down last night.

We will make it up to you when we return again xx”

She followed up with another message today, November 25th, revealing that the illness seems to be affecting more than just her:

“Thanks ya’ll for the messages I am okkkkk!!!! (Ish.) Still sick, in fact I think the whole tour party is sick, but Philly this show tonight is gonna smashhhhhh let’s go”

The remainder of the Australian metalcore outfit’s tour with Fit For An Autopsy, Spite, and 156/Silence is set to continue as scheduled:
