Mastodon Debut “Your Ghost Again” Live, Dedicate Performance To Brent Hinds

Mastodon have officially performed their new single “Your Ghost Again” live for the first time.

The progressive sludge metal veterans debuted the track during their June 3rd performance in Prague, Czech Republic, just days after surprise-releasing the song online. The single marks the band’s first new music since the passing of former guitarist and vocalist Brent Hinds and is widely expected to serve as the first preview of Mastodon’s forthcoming ninth studio album.

Before launching into the song, bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders addressed the crowd and dedicated the performance to his late bandmate.

“This is the first song in our entire career that wasn’t worked on with our friend Brent — he passed away last year, and he is no longer with us. So we’d like to do a new song for you guys and we’d like to dedicate it to Brent because we miss him and we love him also.”

“Your Ghost Again” arrives as a significant moment in the band’s history, representing their first release created without Hinds’ involvement. The guitarist and vocalist died in a motorcycle accident in August 2025 following his departure from the band earlier that year.

Mastodon will continue their European and UK touring schedule throughout the summer.
