Filmmaker Matt Zane has spoken at length in a new interview about the ongoing controversy surrounding his unauthorized documentary focused on the final years of late Static-X frontman Wayne Static and his widow Tera Wray.
Zane, known for his work in film, music, and adult entertainment, claims his project — which examines the darker final chapters of Wayne and Tera’s lives — has faced legal resistance from both the band’s camp and the estates connected to them.
Wayne Static passed away in November 2024, while Tera Wray died by suicide in 2016. Zane says the subject matter of his documentary has been a major point of contention, particularly due to its focus on addiction, personal struggles, and their final years.
Zane says he was originally brought into the orbit of an official Static-X documentary project titled ‘Evil Disco’, while also being given space to pursue his own independent film. However, he alleges that agreements tied to his involvement were later broken.
He also revisited the band’s modern-era reunion, fronted by Edsel Dope performing under the masked persona “Xer0,” alongside a tribute-driven presentation of Wayne Static.
Zane said he initially supported the reunion concept but became uneasy as the production evolved, claiming the tone shifted away from what he felt was originally intended as a tribute.
As he put it:
“It felt like a tribute at first… then it turned into a robot and puppets.”
He also questioned how Wayne’s legacy was being presented, suggesting that visual tributes and on-stage acknowledgements were reduced as the production expanded.
Zane claims he was involved in early production discussions, helped contact industry figures including John 5 and Dave Navarro, and contributed footage and direction tied to the reunion-era video work. He also alleges that tensions escalated once his documentary expanded beyond what was originally discussed.
According to Zane, what began as a shared understanding around ‘Evil Disco’ and related footage eventually broke down when business and distribution opportunities emerged.
He claims he was later told he could not proceed with his separate documentary plans, despite earlier assurances, and that access and approvals tied to the project were ultimately denied.
Zane also described working on the project for an extended period with limited compensation, stating that he effectively worked for “less than minimum wage” while building footage, interviews, and production materials. He further claims that after leaving the project, equipment and gear he had been given access to were later requested back, marking what he described as a final break between both sides.
A major theme throughout Zane’s comments is his belief that the dispute centers around control of Wayne Static’s legacy. He argues that the official narrative around the reunion-era Static-X focuses heavily on early-era history while minimizing Wayne’s later-life relationships and struggles.
Zane said he believes this is intentional, stating that both the band and estate stakeholders have a vested interest in shaping how that history is presented.
He also reiterated his central criticism of the band’s modern presentation, saying:
“If you were really all about just pushing Wayne’s memory and ‘Evil Disco’, why do you got a robot up there with puppets?”
He clarified that he is not criticizing fans or the current lineup’s right to continue performing, but questioned what he sees as inconsistencies between tribute messaging and stage presentation.
Zane also claims there is unreleased Wayne Static material that he hopes to include in connection with the documentary. He says he has offered for any proceeds to go directly to the estates, while requesting the material not be reworked under the Static-X name.
According to Zane, his goal is to preserve the recordings in a form closer to Wayne’s original intent.
He also alleges that concerns were raised within the family after he was told the documentary could portray Wayne and Tera in an unflattering light — something he disputes.
Throughout the interview, Zane repeatedly emphasized his personal connection to Wayne Static, stating that he spent years around him and had direct involvement in parts of his later career. He argues that this proximity gives him a different perspective than those currently overseeing the band’s legacy.
As he frames it, the dispute ultimately comes down to who has the authority to tell Wayne Static’s story — and how that story should be told.

The Mosh Network proofread before publishing!!! Wayne died in 2014.
Matt Zane talking about “puppets” is ironic when he is most well known for hanging from strings/ropes on a stage for others entertainment.
Jeremy Saffer LOL!
Check up on your facts before writing bullshitMedia: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2121112755452767&set=p.2121112755452767&type=3
You moron Wayne did not pass away in 2024. You’re a piece of trash
Jesse AbbottI think this is just a typo. Proofreading is indeed in order though.
Jesse Abbott yeah that’s a pretty bad typo
Jesse Abbott Wayne died in 2014 🤡
Dizzy Shay are you retarded? They screenshot that from this posts article. Lmao talk about 🤡.
Dallas J. Hunt read the screenshot again
Dizzy Shay i read the screenshot, it says 2024 which is wrong, and thats what the guy who screenshot was trying to say. Lmao
Fuck matt. They have a long time friend up there , who has a name too. But hes put that aside to honor his dead friend.
Never liked the direction they went in after his death. To each their own, but I just don’t see anything that makes it a tribute to Wayne. The masked singer gimmick feels especially off. Imagine having someone in a costume and skeleton mask pretending to be Dimebag or Ozzy the reaction wouldn’t be the same.
Chris De Leon that’s Edsel Dope, who was really close to Wayne !
Chris De Leon his parents and siblings agreed and were very supportive of it. wayne was always talking about theatrics. edsel dressing up as a robot wayne made people still talking about wayne than about edsel.
Chris De Leon I don’t like the direction he went in the last four albums and his solo album
Chris De Leon most of Project Regeneration Vol 1 was made from unfinished songs that Wayne had done the vocals for, and it was good. The should have stopped there.
Chris De Leon i mean… it beats the dio hologram
Chris De Leon I guess you haven’t seen their shows and how they plaster Wayne’s face on the screen periodically throughout the whole show?
Don’t see anything? 😂😂 new Wayne merch at every tour, videos and photos of him on the screens during several songs, a tribute to him from Tony every night before the encore. You’re an idiot
Chris De Leon the gimmick wouldn’t fit with bands like those. It totally works with Static X. Especially live. Most bands wouldn’t be able to pull something off like that. Static X does. Seen them twice and both times it just felt like a big tribute to Wayne Static.
Who?
Joe BC exactly
I think Wayne would love what they’re doing. And they were great live when I saw them a few years ago
Stuart Blemings Wayne literally died cursing Tony cuz he couldn’t tour as Static-X without his approval even though Tony was just the fucking bass player. Every “Project Regeneration” and Static-X show is literally spitting in Wayne’s grave.
Stuart Blemings No…
Jaime Kirkland Yes.
Dudes just butthurt he’s not in a band
Doren Cowger
Everyonediesthemovie.com
He’s in Society 1
Doren Cowger ripped assholes
Doren Cowger he’s in a band and has been since the late 90s. Smfh
retard
That band should let it rest. Start something new. They totally lost the integrity
Dan Genia no they have released two great albums since xero joined
Mattias Fërdir Nöjd exactly
Mattias Fërdir Nöjd the xero schick is done. It was cool they put together something with the remaining wayne cuts but its done. No real static x fan respect the stupid zombie robot thing or the watered down attempts to deliver evil disco
Mattias Fërdir Nöjd I would even argue that Project Regen vol 1 surpasses Wayne’s solo album and the turd that is Cult of Static combined. Vol 1 is old.school static X flavor that got lost in Wayne’s addiction.
Dan Genia keep telling yourself that😂
Mattias Fërdir Nöjd what, the truth? You got it bud.
Dan Genia why? Wayne wasn’t the entire band or even the founder. Lol
Brian Bobby Foster no reason to debate it. If you like it, enjoy it. Campos is great in FF but this regeneration thing has zero legacy left.
Dan Genia how? There are plenty of bands that have lost the front man/singer and ended up replacing them later on and continuing under the same band name. Do you think drowning pool lost their integrity when they got a new lead singer?
That’s not Static-X
Jayson yeah it’s Dynamic X
Jayson EightySeven then slayer isn’t slayer, pantera isn’t pantera
Richie Castellanos you’re right lol. Jeff was slayer, thats why everything sucks after he passed. Pantera was the Abbott brothers. Definitely not pantera now lol.
Richie Castellanos exactly. They are not.
Richie Castellanos Pantera isn’t Pantera
Jason Torrens bet you listen to metallica too…..
Mark Edwards no I always thought they were kind of weak. I preferred Sepultura, until Max left anyway.
Richie Castellanos the Pantera 1 is tricky, because of the history. But Rex and Anselmo, are part of the band, and Rita has control of the estates. Slayer is different. Holt was given Hannemans blessing. They were good friends. And Holt made an album with them. All in all, fans get too butt hurt over this stuff. If you dont like it, dont listen. Dont go to shows, dont support them. Pretty simple honestly.
Jason Torrens jesus christ. there’s no making you happy, huh?
Mark Edwards Sorry I don’t like boring bands and tribute acts like you do. That’s your problem to deal with, not mine. 🤷♂️ Have a good day.
Frank Cee I was making a point saying that those bands plus more have members that were important but moved on and continued to make music and tour, I know my history im not fucking stupid you don’t need to tell me if I don’t like something or not go to shows, you’re talking to the wrong one …..
Richie Castellanos Same thing with linkin park. At least they’re not dressing up to be the late great lead singer.
Jayson EightySeven maybe, but Edsel has done a fantastic job
Ok guy
Jayson EightySeven not even close
Jayson EightySeven Yeah, it’s Dope X. Lol
Jayson EightySeven fuck, you’re right.. it’s Hanson.Media: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia0.giphy.com%2Fmedia%2Fv1.Y2lkPTEyMGMwMTQ3dXY1MXRnZ2w3b2xvanl3Zm5pOWVnMnFkejBtcG1vZzR6ZDdwNTAybSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n%2FxVc2dSnkKmNIA%2Fgiphy.gif&h=AUC2IJ2BCEtEfoP8ZJnJbzGNDO5GOJHx2deXTyUGvO3Xp0rrpg6M_LgKrBAq3mAtJwZ7yMitNsIVfMZUbxSdjTutJcISNe_mLCfdHTxvxZj-CDa2UquJPkr0DVyyO_JP&s=1
Matt Zane sucks so much
Ive seen them 4 times since their comeback.
Tons of fun. I had a blast and they’re drawing money.
My math could be wrong but I think Wayne passed away before 2024
Richie Castellanos long before
Richie Castellanos 2014
I love it so fuck off
Love the new static x lineup. Being able to go to shows and see the songs performed live again has been great.
Justin Derrico totally with you, I saw this last October in Dallas. Was a great show and I will go again. I say if you do not like it, then do not go!
As I said in the other group.
It’s funny though, the bassist absolutely hated Wayne, owned the rights to the Static-X name, thus Wayne touring as Wayne Static and until Wayne died, the bassist was going to do NOTHING with it because he didnt want Wayne to make money. Now hes dead, hes touring again with the name Static-X. So remember that when you say “its to keep the memory alive.” No. It’s money.
Dave Casale lol you’re probably right, I still like it though
Kenneth Lewis cant hate that. I didnt say the music was bad or anything, just its a very clear “cool, now I can make all the money and not split it with some drug addict douche bag and his porn star girlfriend.” Lol
Dave Casale it’s about money you got it right
Dave Casale Totally about the Money
Dave Casale It’s ALWAYS money, sadly.
Dave Casale have you ever been in a relationship with someone thoroughly in the grasp of substance abuse? You can only fight with them so much until you finally just say fuck it and distance yourself. At no point did you ever stop loving the person they were.
Steven Walther everyone needs to fix their own shit, but that doesn’t mean what I said isnt true lol. Wayne himself has expressed thoroughly how much he was hated by the bassist.
Dave Casale I have never seen Tony say he hated Wayne. I have seen a known addict saying “that guy hates me” as if paranoia isn’t one of the hallmarks of addiction. I love the art they made together and I wish Wayne was still here to keep Static-X going, but that’s not the option he allowed us. I choose to believe that Tony, Koichi, Ken, and Edsel miss their old friend and want to reminisce about the music they made together, but I’m not here to tell you that you have to believe, as well. I have lost people to addiction and I didn’t like them at the end, but I still loved them.
Steven Walther that’s great and all, but hes said a lot more than just “that guy hates me.” There is detailed interviews where he goes in depth on this. I’m not here to argue. Its all available to read if you look. Its a known fact they weren’t on friendly terms, and how ever you want to view it, a “friend” not wanting to let his addicted friend get money to not overdose or whatever or just someone who didnt want the other guy to make money of something he also owned and up until he died, he refused to let him use the name. He barely toured with static x and the bassist only allowed it for a short time and once again said nah fuck this dude lol. But thats just my take, and almost everyone else’s.
Just like Phil from Pantera doesnt need the money, yet here we have a tribute act with the founding members dead because Rex isnt even one.
Except its okay cause they portray Wayne as a biomech zombie lol.
And its annoying you keep bringing up “have you ever lost someone” or “i know people who struggled”
Yea me too. I loved heroine and coke and was highly addicted. All my friends are dead, almost all my family is too. Its not a pissing contest man. I’ve walked away from plenty and cut off whoever deserved and didnt deserve it, both as an addict, a friend, a brother, a relative, whatever. But keep pushing like I dont know lol
Tony allowed Wayne to tour under the Static-X name while using his solo band members to play with. He had to give Tony a cut of the money but still was able to tour with it towards the end. I saw him play under that name with his solo band. The show felt weird not seeing the rest of the original members and seemed more like a platform for Tera and her gf to twirl light sticks in bikinis. I liked the show but not as much when I saw the original band on the Cannibal tour.
Michael Earl Germano I remember that. I went to one of those shows. Tera was definitely the main attraction.
Michael Earl Germano yes I remember this. This happens cause Wayne wasn’t making waves touring under his name much less with his solo stuff. So he went back under Static X but even then he was only playing hole in the wall venues that were half full most times cause people knew it wasn’t static x. And it really was odd seeing just Wayne with Tera cause the other musicians were just hired guns and treated as such
Years ago I read an interview with Wayne, and he talked about how much Tony hated him and basically refused to speak to him, and he had to pay Tony a licensing fee to use the Static-X name to tour under, once Wayne passed, Tony knew he would be in charge of everything because he is technically the only actual band member, and this is the way he can make the mosr money. 100% about money.
Terry Wayne I don’t think Tony hated Wayne, I think he hated what Wayne had become, a drug addict. Making it hard for Wayne to use the static x name and refusing to speak to him is what a lot of people to with drug addicts. My cousin is a drug addict, he’s stolen and lied to family so much that nobody will let him near their homes or talk to him because they know he’s just going to tell them what they want to hear so he can get to get money from them or steal or cause issues. Plenty of members left because of Wayne’s drug abuse, and you gotta think, Tony has been in that band with Wayne since day one, Ken Jay was with Wayne before static x and had a big stake in the band too. So you have 3 original band mates who got ahold of alot of unfinished material from Wayne’s family, and got the band back together to finish up what Wayne left behind because they probably missed their friend, who Tony was touring with for 15 years or more. And so you talk to your old friends from around that time, that live in California, and so happen to have a studio like Edsel does and you start working on finishing the music. While working with Edsel it’s like old times, so they decide we should go play some shows and ask Edsel to do vocals. Edsel does but doesn’t want to be seen as the new front man, they just want to make it like it was before, the look, the music, everything. Go on tour, it goes so good it turns into a world tour with 2 rounds through America, and your telling me it’s only about the money when these guys who haven’t toured and enjoyed playing like this in a long time can do it again? Edsel doesn’t need the money, Tony plays in other bands, Ken Jay was doing roofing. This was honestly something that was originally going to be finishing songs, doing a one time tour and be it, but how well it was received is what had made it what it is now. Plenty of bands out there that are more successful that have lost members and still tour and play and you don’t hear much about it from anyone like people hate on static x currently. At the end of the day Tony is a founding member with rights to the band, who has the families blessing, and cut off a friend who refused to get help and died a drug addict. If my best friend turned into a drug addict, started causing problems and married someone who enabled him to continue destroying their lives I wouldn’t want to talk to them either and would feel a certain way too. But losing a friend can make you forget the bad times and want to remember the good. So let them remember the good and if it makes money and allows them to keep it up then let them. Isn’t like touring or streaming music pays like it use to so saying it’s about them money is absurd, especially when half the bands are playing in other bands to cut down on costs to pay band members and touring cost with more people just to be able to play these shows.
It’s really surprising a obsessive fan of wayne hasn’t taken it to dime bag measures… Any real fan that knows anything about static x knows that there is nothing about Wayne’s legacy in the static x name under Tony. He’s only after money if he really cared about the name, he would not have hated Wayne so much do not allow him to use the static x name then after he dies , he makes it about wayne , but seriously where is that one individual I’m shocked we haven’t seen it yet….
Dave Casale People do forget this.
Dave Casale “Fuck you, pay me!!”
Well I’ll be damned, people need an income to survive. Who knew!
Dave Casale yeah but bands need to make a living from their craft. There is a business arm to the creative side.
Jevan Bowley you dont say? Almost like I’m a musician… thats my point…its about the money lol not the creative side.
Dave Casale far from it. Tony was touring with Fear Factory and Soulfly playing clubs and theaters. Wayne was struggling under his real name touring with his solo stuff. He got permission by Tony to tour under the Static X name and he still struggled with that too. He was playing hole in the wall venues that were half full.
Jooe Hernandez Again, Wayne had permission for about a year before Tony took it back. WAYNE STATIC was failing. Static X was the name that had the following that would have filled the clubs, like they are now….and maybe if Wayne wasn’t tarnishing the name, Tony wouldn’t have told him no again and taken it back prior to Wayne’s passing. 100% about money now that the bottomless pit is no longer around. He did and would have sucked the band dry/drier until/if he got sober.
Spot on. This is no tribute, it’s a cash grab and Wayne would hate it.
Dave Casale I cover all this in the movie.
Matt Zane what movie?🤔
Matt Zane 👀👀👀
Matt Zane where can this movie be seen?
Dave Casale Tony hated what Wayne had become, everyone else had grown up and sobered up while Wayne continued to be a junkie piece of shit. Tony had every right to protect the name with what Wayne had become.
Adam Jeffries so as I said… its about the money lol
Dave Casale in a way yes. I can’t blame Tony for doing what he did to protect what he helped build from being destroyed or used to further and deepen @aynes drug addiction.
Dave Casale
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Dave Casale ok , its his intellectual property, he has a family and money to be made , he didnt want to tour with Wayne cause Wayne became a junkie …….so
Duh. As I said… its about the money lol
Dave Casale “legacy musicians” will do anything they can to keep from getting a regular job.
Dave Casale If you’ll recall, Tony wasn’t exactly cool with Wayne’s addiction issues. How do you feed an addiction? Money. THAT’S why Tony was running interference: he didn’t want Wayne to be able to feed his addiction. This is all old news and it’s surprising you’re leaving this part out.
Kinda makes sense now, doesn’t it? If not, then maybe you haven’t enough spent time with an addict.
Jeremy Holcombe as I said to the other guy pushing “You don’t know addiction.” I loved heroine and coke, almost everyone of my friends are dead from drug overdoses. It ain’t a pissing contest my guy. Sure, if it makes you sleep better, than sure, thats why he did it. Not multiple things including not standing Wayne lol. I’m surprised you act like it hasn’t been said millions of times by Wayne himself. But here we go, “you dont know addicts, they feel like everyone hates them.” Or, the guy genuinely didnt like Wayne and what Wayne had become, addict or not.
Dave Casale My mistake. I forgot that you have the inside track to everyone’s true intentions, no matter how buried. Only you, and you’re spreading the gospel here.
My bad.
Jeremy Holcombe no again, it’s online, available to look up, the countless interviews from wayne and growing up the amount of interviews in magazines. Its just a hard reality. And I said sure. It could be him trying to protect his friend (let’s face it…an addict is gonna get it. If he wasn’t gonna get money through Static X name, he would have through Tara’s mouth….) but the fact they are NOW touring again under the name, yet pretending to have a zombie cyborg Wayne is only because he was the most recognizable member. If you just put etsel up there, even less people would give a shit.
My bad.
Dave Casale Yeah man, it stinks and is also a bit sad.
The only people who have a problem with what they’re doing are the people who aren’t getting any of the money they’re making.
To every one bitching saying it’s all about the money… No shit could you imagine this in another business a group of guys start a business grow said business had disputes and issues but grew the business and then poof the face of the company dies and poof close the business lol that’s not right the other guys worked hard on it also. And unlike a lot of other bands that do this this one is still growing and made the replacement a persona not a new actual face we all know it is Edsel but zero is a good persona like mech Godzilla.
Ricky Marchion I believe there’s a movie about something like that and the beginning of Facebook lol
Cody Fairchild and every one wants them to close up shop or quit doing what they are doing cause the face died?
That’s what I’ve been saying
The static x shows are amazing. So much fun. And the giant puppets and mascots they bring on stage are awesome.
I will put project regeneration 1&2 up there as the best of Static-X with their first three albums.
Michael Earl Germano youre high
That may be true but I stand by my statement.
Michael Earl Germano yea thats true..after shadow zone everything sucked and started to become the Wayne static project. At the end of the day everyone seems to forget he was an egotistical asshole that only cared about himself and his pornstar gf. Was he a good musician/writer..yes..its ashame we didnt get to experience him clean up his act and get the band back together to make good music again.but its not like his estate isnt getting paid and they approved this new version of static x. Sometimes thats just how the cookie crumbles !
The article says Wayne passed away in 2024. Wrong!
I saw Static-X with Wayne so I have no desire to see them with anyone else singing. But I don’t see what the band is doing as disrespectful in any way. It may sound harsh but Wayne’s the one who chose substances over his friends and bandmates. These guys did nothing wrong.
Jason Torrens honestly….edsel dope does a pretty good fuckin job. I enjoyed it for what it was.
Seen StaticX with Wayne years ago. No real desire to see this incarnation of whatever this is. Seems like a money grab to me. But I’ve heard the same rumors with Tony hating Wayne and having the rights to the name etc. I get it make money while you can. But do it for the right reasons I guess lol.
Jack Wood I have never seen Tony say he hated Wayne.
No haven’t I heard him say that about Wayne. Just what I’ve heard from other sources. I agree with ya on the whole addiction part. Yeah having a new Static X with Wayne would be cool but alas here we are.
Listen I feel the same way about Phil and Rex going out as Pantera. Yeah it’s cool to honor Dime & Vinnie. Pantera is one of my favorite bands. But that’s not Pantera to me. Same with Type O Negative doing a tribute for Pete. ToN is my favorite bands. But I just prefer to keep those memories of how it was. Again, I’m not saying anything negative about it. They can go do whatever they want, me personally I just want no parts of it.
Jack Wood I get that, but arguably having 75% of the original lineup, only lacking the one deceased member, to me, says this IS Static-X, as much as it can be. The Pantera situation doesn’t effect me as I have never cared for Phil as a vocalist and I didn’t even know Rex’s name until this “reunion” started. The two members that were of any interest to me are sadly deceased.
Should all bands hang it up when “the face” (whether or not said face is the vocalist) dies? Stone Temple Pilots (they lost both Scott and Chester)? Linkin Park? Pantera?
Should Sabbath have quit when Ozzy left (I liked Heaven and Hell 🤷)?
You make some good points.
Are they supposed to use Wayne? The intent of using xero is that it’s not supposed to be a replacement. It’s an embodiment of static x. Is up to you if that works or not, or if you’re interested, but that’s what they’re going for.
Aaron Farrow it’s horse shit
Frank Burger your horse shit 🤣🤣
DJ Davis it’s “you’re”, but keep trying, it should get easier. Tylenol for headaches, Midol for cramps….
Frank Burger youre a grown adult getting pressed over nothing. Simmer down
Don’t partake. It’s actually done very well.
Aaron Farrow Having the lead singer of Dope put on a mask to look like a robotic Wayne Static is a replacement. It’s an “embodiment” Wayne Static. If they wanted to go your route they’d go the Linkin Park route. Yeaaahh, you twist it.
Aaron Farrow at this poibt edzel is raping the concept
Nick Bahry
IT’s EDSEL…& YOU’RE A DIPSH!T
Bill Alexander who really.cares?
Aaron Farrow
It’s dumb. Lay Wayne to rest and just have Edsel be the frontman and be done.
Wayne and Tony were 50/50 partners after Ken and Koichi left. Does anyone who’s upset that Tony wouldn’t let Wayne tour with the Static-X brand really think Wayne would’ve let Tony do it either?
Wayne’s family signed off on the reunion, so if they’re fine with it why is anyone else bitching and moaning?
Joshua Jinn Joykill because that’s what the internets for?
Dante DellamoreMedia: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia1.giphy.com%2Fmedia%2Fv1.Y2lkPTEyMGMwMTQ3dDNhdWFpY2JibTIxMHR3ZGk2ZTF0ZWVnaG9vMThkZWplNXlpZzgyeSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n%2Fap6wcjRyi8HoA%2Fgiphy.gif&h=AUD6E_OLSmr9L8NKIUGy4PHWhQ_Sgz6Ct8TOD_spuPElYekiehK3OdbCfstfKHz7Q8XRQc_1b9dwuRvQM5L27WBz1B_X4pQebac_lN40FfsN1Ya_AKnTb8bXV0TXBx6f&s=1
Joshua Jinn Joykill All I’m doing is making a move about Wayne and Tera where the focus is on them. Not a robot and puppets dancing on stage.
Matt Zane I wasn’t even referring to the situation involving your film, just the people pissing themselves because Tony got Edsel, Ken, and Koichi and brought the band back.
As far as that goes, I don’t know the entire situation that led to Tony and Wayne going from best friends to bitter enemies and I’m not going to pretend to, but Static-X, like any other successful band, is a business and both of them owned it.
Tony even got Wayne’s family’s blessing to do it and loved the concept of Xero, so if anyone who truly loved Wayne would have a problem with getting to hear more stuff that he wrote and recorded before his death, I can’t really say those people must be real fans of his if they want that stuff to remain buried.
As far as you go, I know who you are, any true underground metal fan would. I jammed Society 1 in the early 2000s, even still to this day. I remember watching that fucked up live show where you were swinging around with hooks in your back.
And since you’ve directly responded, which I’m honestly surprised of, I would like to hear from you in your own words what the barriers you’re facing on releasing a film on Wayne and Tera.
I could see how using any of the Static-X music or imagery could instantly put the brakes legally on what you’re trying to do, is there anything in it from while Wayne was still in Static-X or is it all filmed after his departure and subsequent solo run?
Matt Who?
Apparently the clown has xero clue what is going on and why they are doing it, Xero is not a robot. He is simply pissed off and bitter because his shit got shut down. Go cry somewhere else clown.
This band is shit now without Wayne.. they should rename and stop using Wayne’s music. He left static and started Pighammer because he was done with Tony Campos and his shit.
Why is anyone giving Matt zane any exposure
I always thought it was weird as hell having somebody dress up like him doing the music.
Jonathan Douglas he’s not dressed up like him at all tho lol
Says the dipshit using massive ai to make a documentary that’s literally against everyones wishes. The band, the family, literally everyone.
Screw this guy. What they’re doing is fine and it’s fun.
The whole point of Xero being a robot is not wanting to be an entity & taking anything away from Wayne’s legacy. He’s signifying that he wants to honor wayne the best way he can without taking the spotlight away from wayne’s acheivements. Personally i think Edsel Dope is a legend for what he’s doing & honoring waynes memory
Jamie Barton Actually Wayne hired me to direct every video he did after leaving Static X. Both him and Tera asked me to make this documentary. So I’m not as clueless as you think. Besides that read this from one of Wayne’s and Tera’s close friends

Matt Zane link doesn’t work but Wayne never actually left static x just used a different line up to tour but dont lie here homie. Waynes family dont wont you or your documentary anywhere near them. You should walk with your head in shame.
Jamie Barton I have Wayne on video saying Static X is done. Just wait and you’ll see.
Matt Zane it’s kind of funny you should claim that but Static X are still pretty much alive & touring & Edsel is doing a pretty damn good job of keeping Wayne’s spirit alive as Xero. Dont try & push your washed up documentary on me even the band want nothing to do with you. You’re just pished cus they cut you off with this unauthorised documentary & thats the bare faced truth of it all.
Tony Campos is an asshole
Wayne passed away in 2014 not 2024. Please get facts like basic numbers straight.
It’s like another video circling saying Layne Staley died days after the MTV Unplugged (which took place in ’96) when it was 6 years (1996-2002) or another stating Layne’s final performances with AiC were in 1994 with Kiss while they are playing songs like Grind and Again from their 1996 self titled album and those Kiss dates were the only dates after the Unplugged in 1996 he played with AiC until they had to go in hiatus again due to Layne’s health and addiction.
You cannot replace Wayne Static, but, this is as good as its ever gonna get, and Edsel has stepped up and proved his merit.
Fuck matt Zane whoever the fuck that is ! What static x did with this is awesome I’ve seen them 10x with Wayne and 4 times with Edsel its a awesome tribute to wayne .
Sour grapes much?
They honored Wayne statics life very well the live show that I went to in Grand rapids Michigan and Wayne’s parents was there we all were there we all cried it was beautiful nothing that this band is done has fallen short of the memory of Wayne static.
Matt zane is a dipshit who has no authority over static x and needs to fuck all the way off.
I’d rather see a robot with puppets, than some 4th rate Edsel dope wannabe that makes trash ass porn. Get fucked, “Lord” Zane.
Jeremy Jenks I thought that’s who the Zane guy was, he’s part of the Zane brothers!!!
If they ditched the mask, I’d be happier with everything. No one will ever forget Wayne. We don’t need the mask. We have the music.
I love both versions
I really hope he gets blocked.
Its not a replacement
What is that singer looks lame
Oh, the filmmaker doesn’t play any of the music, but he made a movie and knows better than everyone. Fuck that guy.
Matt Zane is such a poser. His band always sucked. His adult movies were not hot, he wanted to be like Marilyn Manson so badly. But his band is awful. That dude has always been so cringe
How much did Matt pay to have his opinion pushed on social media? Literally nobody has given a fuck about him or his music since he started. The world just isn’t buying Zane’s brand of vapid ass dark boy shit, stick to blowing Dave Navarro.
Matt Zane is a complete piece of shit that has never amounted to anything so he’s attempting to make money off of Wayne 🤢🤮
DJ Davis I’m self funding which means I’m losing money on this. But besides that Wayne and Tera wanted me to do this. Read and learn.

As it is their band, it’s their decision to push the music how they see fit. Not any one other person should speak on it.
Super fun live show. Bravo to everyone involved. I saw the 1st Static-X tour, + my band opened for them on thier last w Wayne. I hope they keep it going forever!
🤘😎🤘
Lol who actually listened to society 1 though?
Oh God look at this getup…TEMU slipknot!
They’ve been around longer than Slipknot. And sound nothing like them. So how do you get this comparison?
I can’t wait to see Edsel and static x in August
First of all the article is incorrect. Wayne did not die in 2024
Let Wayne rest. I think they’ve tributed hime enough by now. Jusy be Edsel the Frontman and be done. This iteration of S-X is just a grift anyway
Needs a correction here Wayne Static passed away in November 2024″ I was all confused lol
Bryan Eckermann you mean 2014
Matt McConnell yes, I was pointing out the article typo
And who the fuck is Matt Zane anyway?
Imagine if McDonald’s closed down when ronald died.
Shawn Robitille how is that the same?
Ronald was a mascot not the company founder
It’s not disrespectful but it’s not static X with out Wayne Static
This dude is a fuckin joke who ever made this clearly he is a Taylor Swift fan nice try on the rage bait though it doesn’t work on me like these simple minded clones
I love it, but people don’t get it. To each their own.
And Tera was a slam pig
The band died with Wayne
Who the fuck is Matt Zane?
Of course it’s for the money, why do you get up and go to work in the morning?
Because it’s a live show dude
Im pretty sure they clarified in an interview that xer0’s first look wasn’t a mask of wayne, people are only make that assumption because of the hair. Xer0 actually didn’t have his hair up at one point. I think the robot look is also cool, it feels like a tribute and not a replacement.
Nikolas Bright its always been a tribute. Nobody ever tried or could replace wayne
Nikolas Bright exactly. Plus edsel running 2 shows thats amazing
Because he thinks AC/DC is a good band…

Because it’s the most genius thing Eva! For all we know Wayne left a will for the band to do this! Static for Life! Dope is family to them dawg!
Like I always says: when daddy wants a tickle, daddy gets a pickle.
Cuz its fuckin cool who cares?
He’s a loser
AND YOU. YOU PAY IT. YOU, YOU PAY IT. YOU PAY IT, PAY IT, PAY IT. PAY IT.
After everything I’ve read I really do believe this guy is just out for himself with all of this. Not Wayne’s legacy.
Tony Campos is only doing this for money.
He owns the rights to the bands name and wayne constantly had to send him money.
Matt Zane trying to make money off of Static X claiming someone who actually owns the band is trying to make money off of Static X . The hypocrisy and Butt hurt is off the charts .
So he is the first dude to take over a band and keeping the music going. So what if David drainman died and the got Lil way as his replacement and dress little like Dave to keep the music alive…. someone will bitch its impossible not too. So really no need to explain. The band are family, well some static x now. I definitely one. Get well guys.
