Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer vocalist Maynard James Keenan has reportedly been named in a new lawsuit filed by a former business partner connected to his Thirteen Moons Gin venture.
According to a report from ThePRP, the lawsuit was filed on June 6, 2026 by Dave Sanclemente and names Keenan, Potions, LLC, and company co-managers Tim White and Calvin Arnold as defendants.
The dispute stems from Keenan’s entry into the gin market, which began taking shape in 2024 before eventually leading to the launch of Thirteen Moons Gin through Potions, LLC.
In the complaint, Sanclemente alleges that Keenan and the other defendants conspired to remove him from his role within the company in November 2025. The filing claims the alleged actions were taken in retaliation for complaints Sanclemente made regarding workplace issues involving Keenan’s other business interests.
.According to the lawsuit, Sanclemente submitted a series of formal complaints regarding conduct he believed to be unlawful. He alleges that shortly afterward, his responsibilities within Potions, LLC were stripped away, his contract was voided, and his involvement with the company was significantly reduced.
As a result, Sanclemente is pursuing claims that include breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
The lawsuit also seeks access to company financial records and accounting information, punitive damages related to what the complaint describes as “willful, extreme, outrageous and malicious conduct,” and reimbursement of legal fees.
At the time of publication, neither Keenan nor the other named defendants have publicly responded to the allegations.
Keenan has spent decades building a diverse business portfolio outside of music, including wineries, vineyards, hospitality ventures, and martial arts-related enterprises throughout Arizona. The legal dispute marks the latest development involving one of those entrepreneurial projects.
